Doug Elniski, MLA Edmonton-Calder drives diaper stuffed Smart car through WEM in support of
In an effort to raise awareness of Terra - Centre for pregnant and parenting teens and their Baby Heroes campaign, Doug drove his diaper stuffed Smart car into WEM to deliver over 12,000 donated diapers on Friday October 23rd. Much of the awareness of Doug's diaper drive was raised through online social media like twitter and Facebook. He said "Terra deserves our support for the work they do - giving both teen moms and babies a chance to succeed. A young person who says I am going to raise this child needs help, and as they say, it takes a village to raise a child. Today we prove that the social media community is such a village." Doug wants to thank all those supporters that helped him reach and exceed his goal of 10,000 diapers. For more information on Terra and their Baby Heroes programs visit their website here. Baby Heroes campaign ends Sunday, October 25th, however you can contact Terra Centre through their website to arrange to drop off diapers after the fact.
